Jim Acosta
As I was watching and researching the topic of Jim Acosta, CNN, and Donald Trump, it was very hard for me to not yell at my computer, not only because my views and Trumps don’t align but also because the way Jim Acosta and other reporters were being treated in that press conference by our president, and how some other reporters were covering the story. Jim Acosta had his pass to report on the white house stripped away. Jim Acosta’s place of work, CNN, is now suing the White House swaying that taking away his pass is a violation of the constitutional right to freedom of speech. I 100% agree with CNN. Anyone can report on anything and the president has no right to take that away. Especially not from the organization who is supposed to live by and know the constitution and its rules.
The reason that Jim got his pass being taking away was because he “inappropriately” touched a white house intern during the press conference. When you watch the clip of his interaction with the white house intern. It is not assault. The intern was trying to rip the microphone out of his hand. She was getting into his space and he was trying to keep hold of the microphone. When she reached over him to grab the microphone his arm moved down, touching her arm, to get her to stop. It wasn’t forceful. It looked like it was just an automatic reaction. It was simply an interaction you would have with anyone trying to take something away from you. I think that that reasoning for taking away his press pass is completely outrageous and makes my case for being on Jim Acosta’s side even stronger.
